Welcome
Ohio's Help Me Grow program is a combination of three separate
programs implemented into one, family focused program for expectant
mothers, infants, toddlers, and their families. The first
program created focus on children diagnosed with developmental
delays and disabilities. This particular program was named
Early Intervention. A broader focus, one based on the need to
service the growing population of children ay the risk for
developmental delays or disabilities, created the early concept of
Early Start. Early Start provided home visiting services and
community supports for infants and toddlers, and their families to
prevent abuse, neglecting developmental delays. Some three
years later, a third program came alive, which offered health and
physical assessments to first time mothers and teen parents after a
child was born. The Welcome Home Visits was the name given to
these particular home visits conducted by a Registered Nurse.
